Meet the Governors
Why did you decide to become a Governor at North Ealing Primary School?
One of the main reasons we chose to move to the Pitshanger area two years ago was North Ealing Primary. My daughter now attends the School and hopefully my son will follow in due course. Since living here we have discovered the strong sense of community spirit that exists and the central role that North Ealing Primary plays in engendering that spirit. I wanted to be a Governor to contribute to the development of the School and wider community.
What do you think that Governors can bring to North Ealing Primary School?
The Governors can provide oversight, additional skills and different perspectives to help support and guide North Ealing Primary to raise standards. By doing so, the Governors can make a significant contribution to the success of the school and help it achieve its aim of being “outstanding”.
On a personal level, as a lawyer, my job is analytical in nature and requires me to challenge and find alternative solutions. I also frequently advise Boards of Directors of public companies on governance matters, accountability and transparency. I think this experience and skill set will prove valuable in my role as a Governor.
What are your interests in Education ?
Education is a frequent topic of conversation in our house. My wife is a primary school teacher and my daughter is just starting her education. I am always fascinated by the insights they provide into school life.
The attainment and progress of the children should be the central concern of any school. I am particularly interested in how North Ealing Primary seeks to improve standards so that every child can reach their potential.
